PRESS RELEASE ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 30, 2015
Author Danica D. Smith has officially announced the release of her debut book, Love, Faith & Destiny: Short Bible Stories of God’s Amazing Love, Journeys of Redemption & Promises You May Have Forgotten. Available now on Amazon or through the author’swebsite, it promises to help Christians truly connect with their faith in a deep, meaningful way.
“The stories in Love, Faith & Destiny are excellent. This book is useful for anyone – a powerful resource for beginners just learning the Word of God as well as pastors and teachers,” says Pastor Benjamin Scott, Former President of Central Union Missionary Baptist Association after reading the book.
Danica has done an impressive job in translating dry, dull Old Testament stories into language that anyone of any age can easily connect with and understand. The language is simple, direct and evocative. The messages are clear. Readers from elementary school students to senior citizens have found it not only engaging to read, but incredibly illuminating.
With the release of Love, Faith & Destiny, Danica has achieved her main goal of translating those stories into plain modern-day English without losing their meaning, and with its easy-to-follow format, she has created a series of short, bite-sized journeys that readers find so engaging they simply cannot stop reading.
The book grew naturally from Danica’s lifelong love for the teachings of Jesus. She grew up in Lutcher, Louisiana, and became passionate about battling childhood obesity, using her engineering and business skills to create entrepreneurial solutions to the epidemic. While initially successful, a later business failure sent Danica into deep depression.
She found solace by returning to her Christian roots and striving to reconnect spiritually. Her search made her realize just how disconnected she was from some of the Bible’s most inspiring stories, particularly those in the Old Testament. Her struggle to connect with those stories birthed Love, Faith & Destiny, by which she hopes to bring better understanding of these amazing stories to other Christians.
“I have been an active Christian for over 60 years and reading the Old Testament has always been a challenge. Love, Faith & Destiny made it easy to learn more about these people of faith, and as a result, my faith has increased and I’ve become closer to God,”said Jean Scott, Director of King Solomon Baptist Church Women Ministry.
Love, Faith & Destiny is professionally designed, formatted and published with a unique soft-touch cover material that sits comfortably in the hands while reading. The ideal gift for a Christian desiring to grow in his or her faith, the book is available for $15.00 in paperback format, as well as in ebook version. Kindle Unlimited members can read free with their service subscription.
Upon learning about the release of Love, Faith & Destiny, DUNIA was able to catch up with Author Danica D. Smith with a few light questions:
What do you love most about writing?
What I love most about writing is the Godly influence and impact that sharing my thoughts and experiences have on people. Knowing that someone’s life is being positively impacted through my writing is a phenomenal blessing.
What’s your favorite bible verse and why?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. This is one of my favorite bible verses because it encourages and reminds me that my potential is literally unlimited, as long as I am relying on Christ and not myself. When you have an intimate relationship with God, there isn’t anything you can’t do.
How do you spend your time when you’re not writing?
When I am not writing, I enjoy exercising and cooking. Being from the south, good food is everywhere so for me, a healthy dose of exercise is required. Both of those activities not only make my heart smile but they allow me to clear my mind and generate good energy.
What can readers expect from you in coming months?
In the coming months, I will be on a book tour visiting churches, Christian conferences, libraries and bookstores. I also plan to have online discussions about the stories in the book with the readers. I look forward to going on this journey with them and sharing in their faith growth experience.
